Insiders report from our 24th Birthday Dance

After a quiet start with two squares dancing in the early morning, the day finished with a bang with four squares on the floor and several watching from the sides.  Alan recovered from last week’s nasty cold and was in good form calling some favourite oldies which everyone enjoyed, becoming “very exuberant” towards the end of the day.

What is a birthday without cake, jelly and ice cream served by the committee?  The cake was green and brought smiles all round.

After lunch there were sufficient A1 dancers for two squares which was fun to watch.  It was a colourful occasion with many past dancers helping us to celebrate our 34th birthday.  The photo albums proved to be a great idea with lots of memories contained within those pages.  All in all, everyone had a fun day, thanks to the hard work of the committee and the support of the dancers.

Teresa writes: “An age old treat of Jelly and Ice Cream for dessert seemed to be enjoyed by all at our recent Birthday dance. Many helping hands offered to help with the distributions of the 45 Jelly and Ice Cream cups. A great production line was in place to provide this dessert in a fun filled covid save way.  Then followed by Birthday cake.  I thinkYummmo!   Thanks to all the helpers who helped to make the day a special event.”
